Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state has explained that his government was forced to secure a loan of $75million from the World Bank because of former president, Goodluck Jonathan's looting. Oshiomhole, who spoke with state house correspondents on Sunday, expressed his delight at president Muhammadu Buhari's emergence, which he claims has transformed the country and states' fortunes. Premium Times recalls that the World Bank had approved a $225 million loan for Edo State Government in 2012, to be implemented in three tranches of $75 million per annum.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Engr. Olusesan Olufunso Adebiyi as the new State House Permanent Secretary. Naija News reports that Adebiyi succeeds Tijjani Umar, who served from April 5, 2020 until his retirement on August 10, 2023. Adebiyi officially assumed duty on Monday in Abuja, pledging his commitment to the success of President Tinubu’s administration. At a handover ceremony held at the State House Administrative block, Adebiyi, who previously held the position of Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Health, expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Umar.
