Recent projects in which the company has been involved include the Michelle Pfeiffer and Sean Penn starrer “I am Sam,” from New Line; Martin Scorsese’s epic crime drama “Gangs of New York,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz; Lasse Hallstrom’s “The Shipping News,” with Kevin Spacey and Julianne Moore; “Four Feathers,” featuring Kate Hudson; “A View From the Top,” starring Gwyneth Paltrow; and “Spy Kids” and “Scary Movie 2,” from Miramax Intl.
“This is a natural progression for us as we know and have learned over the years what genres and what films play well in certain territories, and it makes sense to utilize this knowledge and expand our services to include filmmakers and introduce them to distributors in order to provide the necessary funding,” said Karlin.
Green added: “With our expertise, we can engineer co-productions and financing arrangements for budgets anywhere from $18 million and up for commercial mainstream films.”
Prior to joining Bjorck, Karlin was president and partner at Blue Ridge Entertainment, an indie production and distribution company. She was also senior VP, international, at Trimark Pictures and president of Hemdale Film Sales.
Green joined Bjorck Film in 1989 as office manager and was promoted to VP of acquisitions in 1995.
